Demi Moore Takes the Plunge in Elegant White Gown (with Thigh-High Slit!) as the Host of 2024 amfAR Gala at Cannes

Demi Moore brought her A game to her hosting duties at Cannes Film Festival.

The 61-year-old actress stunned in a custom Loewe gown to host the annual amfAR Gala on Thursday, May 23. The plunging silk jersey dress featured a dramatic slit and crystal embroidered details — as well as a dip in the back to show off even more skin.

The star-studded charity event, which raises money for AIDS research, is widely known as one of the most glamorous events of the French film festival, and Moore certainly got the memo.

She accessorized with a glittering necklace and drop earrings and her hair was styled into a chic updo. Her makeup was simple and classic, with bronzy eyes and pink lips.

On Instagram, Moore reflected on hosting the amfAR Gala in 1997.

"Remembering the one and only Elizabeth Taylor today," the star captioned a photo of herself and the late actress. "27 years ago I hosted the @amfAR Gala in Cannes on her behalf, and I’m honored to be hosting again tonight."

Demi Moore Offers Advice to Younger Stars at Chopard Dinner: ‘You Don’t Have to Do It Alone’ 

Moore has been a fixture on the Cannes red carpet this year, where her horror film The Substance is an official selection. For its premiere on Monday, May 20, the actress wowed in a Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown with a dramatic 3D detail.

The satin champagne ensemble featured a corset bodice and a 3D pointed wing protruding from the left side of the bust. Moore accessorized the look with dazzling Chopard jewels including a choker necklace and drop earrings, and her waist-length hair was styled into loose waves.

Moore made her first appearance at Cannes 2024 on Friday, May 17, for the premiere of Kinds of Kindness, where she wore a red beaded Giorgio Armani Privé gown with floral details. The floor-length column dress featured a v-neck detail and intricate beaded embellishments and she accented the look with statement Chopard earrings.

Later that evening, the actress wore another glamorous gown for the Trophee Chopard Ceremony. At the event, where she served as "Godmother of the Trophee Chopard," Moore dazzled in a turquoise sequin Balenciaga gown with cone-like details at the hips.

She complemented the look with shimmering Chopard jewels including the Haute Joaillerie Collection necklace, which features 70.40-carats of paraiba tourmaline and 43.38-carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold.

Moore's show-stopping Cannes appearance comes on the heels of her standout fashion moment at the 2024 Met Gala in New York City. At the Monday, May 6, event, Moore turned heads in a black column gown by Harris Reed and diamond jewelry by Cartier. The dress featured a pink-and-white floral design and a spiked, heart-shaped structural element.
